When does my son/daughter start playing league football for Medway Town FC?

For all age groups up and down the country "grass roots" league football starts from 6 years old, it's known as Under 7, which is the earliest they begin. They start playing "5 a side" and over a 6 year period will eventually start playing 11 a side. The way this is worked is based on the following – FA Directive... A player must attain the age of 6 before the following dates (1st Sept – 31st Aug)

If your son or daughter turns 6 within the above dates they are not eligible to play until the following year. So turning 6 on 15th Sept you would have missed out by 2 weeks, which means come the following year they will be one of the oldest players in the team. The age brackets the FA go by is school dates (we can explain this is great detail at any time if you do not understand) it can be confusing.
