ASK THE MANAGER

With me being the manager of our new under7s green team, the only games I can go off, is from a game we had against Medway town under7s blacks after one of our training session. We had previously played against them 2 weeks after forming the team to see where we was as a team and what we needed to work on to help the children develop and grow. In the 3 training sessions before we took the u7 blacks on again, we had been working on 1v1s and 2v2s, while understanding that not everyone has to rush to the ball and that we need to watch out for danger. In this game we scored our first 2 goals as a team and could clearly see the improvements we had made! Seeing the smiles on not only the kids but their parents showed me that this in our very early start as a team would be my greatest game I have seen them play!
Seeing the team grow from the short time I have had with them, and building the bonds throughout the team. As we look forward to our first season together.
For me personally is being able to coach my son and see him grow and understand the life sessions that football will teach him. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose but its how we react when we lose that will help us win moving forward!
When i was playing i hadn’t even thought about it but when my son was born, I was speaking with my old football manager and he suggested that I should look at doing my coaching badges, with him saying it to me I decided to take the leap if I could have an impact on young players the way he had for me growing up then I knew I needed to at least give it a go, after doing my level 1 and coaching for pegasus I decided I would take the dive in to level 2 and im really glad I done both as I feel that both of the courses helped me understand not only what happens on the pitch but off it.
As cheesey as it sounds im looking forward to see how this young team connect with each other and start to really understand the game of football by playing matches, training is great and helps get them in a great place but nothing beats stepping over them white lines.
I had 2 from a personal background my dad was one, seeing him work a day job and a evening job to provide for us when I was growing up before he worked his way to where he is showed me that hard work will always prevail, if there is something you want in life you need to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in. From professional background it was Frank Lampard, as a midfielder I used to watch him and just wonder how he done the things he did, the timing to arrive in the box and score goals, control games on the middle of the park and be a leader on the pitch.
At this moment with the team having not played against any other opposition other then Medway town teams, its hard to make goals or targets that I would like to hit but some thing I would like is to make ourselves stable in one group and try to push on to the next if we can keep growing constantly.
I would like to continue with this team and should the opportunity be available in the future potentially look at completing the ueffa B licence.

Not to bad at some impressions, can do a decent golem from lord of the rings 😅
