ASK THE MANAGER

Joshua Edwards

I took my son to a training session with Medway Town and knew straight away this was a club I would love my son to play for. After watching him train with Sean’s U8 team and develop under him I got the opportunity to manage my own team. After being a little apprehensive and nervous at first, I can now say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I love the way everyone pulls together to push the club in the right direction. Feels more like a family and when starting out it’s great knowing so many people want to help you out.
When I was younger up to the age of 14, I was madly interested in karate. I worked myself up to a black belt.
For me in the short term is to get the boys playing a passing style of football that they keep and maintain throughout games this season. The long term would be to grow the team year on year watching them become better individuals and team players.
My favourite memory was the King Of The Town tournament. We were a brand-new team at the time and we manged to win a trophy. It’s a day I’m sure they will never forget. I’m looking forward to seeing my team grow as footballers and people. I know there will be ups and downs but once you start this journey it’s one you will cherish forever. I’ve met some great people and am lucky enough to have two coaches Neil and Ben with me.
